Junior Cross-Country

It was the perfect day for a cross-country race on Friday.  After an interesting Junior Assembly in the morning, it was good to have lots of parent support there.  It was great hearing all the cheering and clapping for our wonderful athletes.

All the children in each year level participated and many of the children in our class made it to the finals of the Year One Boys' and Year One Girls' race.  We were so thrilled that both winners of these races were from our class!

Congratulations to Rochelle and Ben for their outstanding run.  We are all very proud of you!!

Travel Stories by Anton, Lara and Ana

Anton, Lara and Ana shared their travel stories with us and we all loved hearing about the special places they went to.

Anton went to the Bay of Islands and to the Mahurangi Regional Park.  

Lara and her family flew down to Queenstown where they stayed in a hotel.  They had a really good time and went up a gondola to enjoy the spectacular views from the top of the mountain.  They also visited Milford Sound and took a boat ride where they saw many waterfalls.  They took walks through beautiful forests and Lara enjoyed feeding the ducks too.

Ana's trip to Tairua was lots of fun.

A Wonderful Grandparents Day!!

We had such a happy and exciting Grandparents Day - all the children had looked forward to hosting their grandparents and to introducing them to their friends and showing them their learning.  

After a lovely time spent in the classroom, everyone met outdoors to enjoy the sunshine and some folk dancing.  A picnic lunch followed and then we all had a lovely Grandparents assembly with a delightful story about Emily, the Kiwi.  There were superb items by the Kapa Haka group, the choir, the school band, the orchestra, the gymnastics team and two groups of dancers.
