We had amazing hands-on opportunities to discover how trains travel on various tracks and how they work. Our vocabulary was indeed widened with new words such as "freight, passenger and steam" as we worked with the variety of locomotives. As train operators we learned how to get the train to stop at the station, using switches. We also worked on a different set of train tracks where we needed to move the points to get the trains to change tracks. Mr Rankin also demonstrated how a steam engine works.
