Food Technology with Mr Rankin

Have you ever tasted choc-chillie,  mushroom, herb and spice home-made burgers before?  Most likely not, unless you happen to be a Junior Masterchef in training, enrolled at one of Mr Rankin's technology classes.  The Room 5 hopefuls went along to Food Technology for the full day on Friday and they learned so much about bread making and preparing meat in the process of making their very own burger.  Those vegetarians among them were also catered for - they made a mushroom/vegie patty to pop onto their bun.

With many new terms being added to their vocabulary, words such as yeast, knead, rise, mincer, etc were being used in practical experience and conversation.  What a wonderful day it was - lots of tactile, taste bud and aromatic sensations to add to the fun and laughter.  This certainly was a day to remember!
